OEM-aftermarket Touch Screen Head units for Mazda3 – Part 1

I have finally grown tired of the factory stereo in my 2005 Mazda 3 GT Sedan.  The 2 options that are available to consumers include an aftermarket double din Touch screen (such as Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood, Pioneer, etc) that is a universal fit design which I would have to purchase the dash trim piece from Scosche  to complete the installation.   The second option (and one that I have to admit really liking) is the OEM-Aftermarket units.

These OEM-Aftermarket units are actually designed to look and operate like an OEM or factory unit.  They appear to fit like a glove and they look right at home in the dash of a Mazda3.  There are a couple of companies that produce these units and naturally they look different and operate differently from each other.  Not to mention different features and options.

Some of the options that I am wanting is of course DVD playback, radio, Navigation, Sirius Radio with onscreen control, bluetooth, onscreen ipod control.  If you have any suggestions for units that I should take a look at let me know and post it in the comments section below.

What I am going to be doing over the next few posts here on Mazda3carpet.com is share videos featuring these units and how they operate.  The first in our series here is the Touch Screen with Bluetooth & GPS from CarAdvanced.com

Mazda3carpet.com kits making the rounds at car shows in 2009

Owners of Mazda3 show cars have been popping up all over the country with Mazda3carpet.com molded carpet kits installed in their prized vehicles.

One such person is Troy from North Carolina and his 2004 Mazda3 sport:

“From the very moment I heard the buzz of a new carpet mold being made for the Mazda 3, I was beyond excited. The factory carpet is very thin and well let’s face it, was not meant to last forever.

For those that have daily drivers and put their cars through all sorts of weather conditions, you know all too well what happens over time.

This new carpet is easily 5 times better hands down.

Let me tell you, this is by far the best carpet I have ever felt.

The look, feel and texture are unmatched.  If you are thinking about replacing your interior carpet, this is the way to go. The prices are perfect and the quality is top of the line. Also Mazda3carpet prides themselves on customer service.

If you are thinking about replacing your carpet, now is the time.”

Where is Cousin Dave?…. Right here!

It has been a while since I last posted a blog and while I have been swamped with work I thought that it was about time that I post something here. There have been a few developments here at Mazda3carpet.com that I would like to share with you over the next couple of days. The first of them has to do with some product changes and new product announcement.

As some of you have likely heard or noticed that the Ultra Lux Kits are no longer listed in our product page. The reason was the inability for that super thick carpet in the Ultra Lux kit to stretch in to the tight corners/bends in the floor of the Mazda 3. Because of the high level of quality we are committed to delivering with all of our products we made the decision to discontinue the Ultra Lux carpet kits.

While the Ultra Lux is no longer available, our Premium Kits are available and can be found HERE. Our Premium kits are superior in quality and feel to the factory carpet supplied from Mazda.

The next bit of news is that we will be introducing some new kits for other Mazda vehicles as well as new color choices for the Mazda3. The first color to be introduced was inspired by the Type R carpets found on several special edition JDM cars in Japan.

If you want to get the latest info as it comes out, I suggest you subscribe to this blog by going to the top right of this page so that you will be notified of the pictures of the very first Type R style kit that will be posted exclusively on this blog as well as all other updates, technical articles (watch for a video on a 45 minute Factory HID install performed with hand tools in a parking lot at night).

Talk to you soon,

Dave  a.k.a. Cousin Dave

Latest pictures of the Mazda3 carpet production molds

We had a big set back when the initial donor car used to create the mold had damage to it that prevented an accuate mold to be created.  But another was finally located and the mold created.

Here are a couple of pictures of the mold made from the floor of a Mazda3 from the manufacturer.

Because of the holidays, the carpet kits will be shipping out on the second week of January has been confirmed by the factory.
