[Car Porn] 2014 Mazda 3 Sedan photos leaked by TopGear Russia
Last week we reported that Mazda had officially released pictures of the forthcoming 2014 Mazda3 hatchback, and we here at Mazda3carpet.com couldn’t be happier with what Mazda has created. They have truly done it again and created a class defining new standard for all other automakers to play catch up with. Continue reading

[Car Porn] Chinese Man Build A Crazy Convertible, 2 Door Mazda 3
In the city of Cixi in Zhejiang Province a local guy who clearly had more time on his hands and balls than most decided to take his first generation Mazda3 and well… lets put it this way: If West Coast Customs ever decides to start a franchise in China, they should perhaps steer clear of this guy.
Now a local hero, the man behind the radical ricing job began by lobbing off the roof and removing two of the doors. A fat body kit was then added along with Lambo-style scissor doors making the Mazda almost unrecognizable from any angle, save the front end. Inspiration for the ass end came from the Lamborghini Diablo.
Finally, the interior was given a complete overhaul (none of our Premium Moulded Carpet Kits were sacrificed in the making of the Platypus of the car world) and comes equipped with an assortment of LCDs, speakers and other gadgets that are as distracting for the driver as the car is for other drivers on the road; especially when those multi-colored headlights are flicked on.
The only thing I have every personally seen that comes close to looking as hideous as this thing would have been any late 80’s early 90’s Honda Accord cruising the streets of Scarborough, Markham or Brampton.

[Car Porn] 450 hp rotary powered Mazda 3
The Mazda 3 is a fine car. But I have to admit that a rear-wheel drive Mazda3 has popped up on several of my day dreams. And apparently I wasn’t e only one. Some guy named Werner Van Herck of Belgium had the same idea, and hired the wizards at VA Motorsports (http://www.va-motorsport.com/) to build him a beast of a Mazda 3.
Starting off with a 2010 Mazda 3, it was stripped down & re-engineered with a 450 hp 3-rotor Mazda rotary engine mated to a sequential 6-speed transmission, which drive the rear wheels with a independent rear suspension set up.

[CarPorn] 2010 Mazda3 Ipad Mini dash install
Mazda 3 head unit…yawn.
I spend most of my days in my Mazda 3 driving between appointments and I no longer kept my library of CD’s stored in my Mazda as it was inconvenient, took too much space and eventually the CD’s would end up scratched and unreadable.
Instead I was listening to my music, podcasts, audiobooks from my iPhone. Not to mention that I have a Sirius XM satellite radio subscription [insert the Babba-Booey Bomb here: “Babba-Booey! Babba-Booey! Howard Sterns penis!”]. All these new options led to my interior filled with cradles, windshield mounts, cigarette lighter outlet multiplier, FM transmitters and countless cords to make it all work.
So a couple of years ago I swapped out the factory head unit on my 2005 Mazda 3 with an Alpine iDA-x305 to eliminate all the clutter. But thanks to Apple and Andriod, who have spurred innovations on how we consume media, we have a new problem.
Thanks to tablets and mobile OS’s new sources of media seem to pop up almost daily in the form of apps. Not even the most hightech and expensive of these aftermarket headunits can keep up with all these new options. My opinion is that there isn’t a single head unit that actually lives up to my expectations (which aren’t that high) of how reliably it should operate.
The Solution:
Why have a head unit, that truthfully, tend to be buggy, expensive, sluggish and unimpressive after a short period of time. Why not just install an iPad Mini in the dash of your Mazda3 and let it be your removable head unit?
The first video actually shows YouTube user DavePioneer, giving a tour of his Ipad Mini install on his 2010 Mazda 3.
The second video from Youtube user Soundmancaraudio, shows how they actually built-in an Ipad Mini into a Chrysler 300.
What are you waiting for? Run out to Best Buy and get yourself an iPad Mini with 4g already!
